Desktop computers are following the way of the Dinosaur and Dodo bird. What has replaced them is mobile devices, tablets and laptops. An advantage of a mobile device is that its internet connection is much steadier. As more people spend time on their mobiles and the internet, companies are forced to adjust their advertising. They have to make their websites suitable for mobiles. Companies also rely on sending text messages and customer care calls to advertise services. However, how else have mobiles changed the way companies advertise? Here are a few ways it has impacted digital marketing: 

1.   Video adverts 

Video adverts are an avenue for a company to showcase their services and products. Their effectiveness is even better if the video isn’t invasive. By creating a short 15 to 30-second video that pops in within a game, you can create an incentive for the user by giving them extra points for watching the video in its entirety. A 30-second video is short enough that the user will pay attention and remain engaged in the brand’s message. 

2.    Before You Create Any Mobile Ad 

Always remember that the power is in the hands of the user and it should remain that way. The goal of an advert is to entice a user to buy a product. If you use invasive adverts to achieve this goal, it will have the opposite effect. Users can rate your advert, but this may lead to a loss in reputation. Adverts that block off a majority of a mobile screen are a good example of such a practice. What makes it worse is when the close button to such an advert isn’t visible.
